Author Biography:

Dr. Caridad Reyes Icasiano-Santos MD was born in Manila, Philippines on December 18. 1933. When her family's possesions got wiped out in the liberation of Manila from the Japanese by the Americans, she strove hard to study and graduated as valedictorian of her high school, earning a full scholarship to study medicine at the University of Santo Tomas. After initial training in Manila, she pursued and completed her training in Ophthalmology in NYC.
