Author Biography:

Pat was born during the early months of World War II and adopted when he was only 3 days old. However, it wasn't until nearly 80 years later that he finally discovered the identity of his real birth parents.During his professional career he has served as a President of several different manufacturing companies in both the USA and Europe.Prior to entering the business world, he earned a B.S. in Engineering from Iowa State University as well as an MBA from the University of Kansas. He then served 2+ years in the US Army including one year with the 101st Airborne Division in Viet Nam in the late 1960's.With 40+ years of experience in both business and volunteer leadership roles, he has revitalized struggling companies, grown stagnant businesses and established new enterprises.Since retiring 20 years ago, he has worked with a variety of non-profit and business organizations in Leadership Development, Professional Recruitment, Strategic Planning and the Development of High Performance Organizations.During that same time period, he has also spent numerous volunteer hours: As a Guardian ad Litem (CASA) case worker - a Court appointed special advocate for children removed from their home for abuse or neglectAs an Advisory Board Member, Marketing & Membership Team Leader and Strategic Plan Facilitator with OLLI (Osher Life Long Learning) at UNCWAs a mentor to numerous students in the Cameron School of Business at UNCW and in the BORG program at Brevard College.His formula for success: Identify, develop and mentor potential talent, so that each individual will be successful in his/her respective role and will continue to learn, grow and reach their full potential. Marie Jones is an academic library director and leadership professor at Brevard College in Western North Carolina.
