Description

The Lord God formed man of the dust of the ground. So says the Holy Bible. And now, for the first time, this text presents a remarkable proof that the KJV is right. Thou Dust is a philosophical essay written in the style of a dialog among participants on a popular TV show, who all examine the question of whether man should clone. Ideas of resurrection of the body, reincarnation of the soul, and rebirth, are all considered in evaluating man's possible motivations. The dialog begins with a demonstration that the verses in the scriptures mysteriously encode the basic facts of the DNA code, then reviews the original ideas that led to the field of genetics, and finally concludes with a religious and philosophical discussion on the subject. The text illustrates how to interpret symbols from the past, leaving hints for the reader who may wish to explore these things on his own. In particular, the ancient Egyptian djed pillar is analysed, using numeric arguments, and shown to be a representation of a single twist of man's DNA molecule. The ceremonial ideas of raising the djed pillar, found in ancient Egyptian myths is then seen as resurrection of an old genotype through cloning, hence explaining why the Egyptians mummified their dead. Religious questions of faith, interpretations of scripture, and the role of numbers in linking science and religion are discussed by the participants, who all have strong views; though, the dialog itself takes on a philosophical tone. It raises the issues, presents the alternate viewpoints, and sketches the arguments, without being dogmatic about which view should be correct.
