Description

Too silent is he who sits on the rock. Why yak to a Jibbergamboo who won't talk? Well, that's just what the gossipy Yakkers from Yakkety Creek are about to find out in a hilarious comeuppance that takes them completely by surprise. Sparkling with deliciously silly rhymes, The Yakkers is a fun read-aloud that will have kids laughing even as they absorb the very pertinent message that sometimes it's every bit as important to listen as it is to talk....

Author Biography:

Since the age of six Lydia Lichti has loved creating stories and picture books, being especially inspired by the rhyming works of Bill Peet and Dr. Seuss. The Yakkers is based on a poem she wrote in her early teens while reflecting on her own need to listen before speaking. Today, Lydia lives in the North Okanagan, in British Columbia, where she not only works with children in the school system, but also enjoys spending time with her nieces and nephews, who inspired her to bring this poem to life in a book they could hold in their hands....
