The four cousins discover early in the summer that their help is needed to rescue a young spirit named Blossom who has been kidnapped. Whoever has Blossom also has stolen the Wand of Nyngra, which effectively keeps those in the magic realm at a distance. The kids' goal is clear but they are quickly thrown off course. In their struggle to defeat the servants of Dagda, the lord of the underworld, they must fight, among many others, a huge Barquest Dog intent on killing them all and an insane witch believed by some to be the female form of the devil. Along the way they find and rescue a boy who becomes the fifth member of their crew. By using the gifts given them by their magic friends and by using their own courage and strengths they must struggle against huge odds to try to rescue Blossom and restore order and sovereignty in the realm of magic.
