Description

A profisso docente nas representaes sociais de professores: um estudo com docentes em incio de carreira (The teaching profession in the social representations of teachers: a study with teachers at the start of their careers), a publication organized by researcher Marcella Thaiane de Lima Silva, reaches the reading public as a study that addresses the social representations of the teaching profession of teachers at the Federal University of Pernambuco (UFPE), Brazil. The idea of studying the teaching profession from the point of view of the Theory of Social Representations came about as a result of joining the "Social Representations and Education" research group. The publication consists of three parts. The first part is dedicated to the state of knowledge of research already carried out on novice teachers. The second part presents a theoretical treatment of the teaching profession, as well as dealing theoretically with the concept and theory of social representations, with an emphasis on Doise's societal approach. Finally, the research data and final considerations are presented. There is no doubt that the publication will be well received by the community of students, teachers and educational researchers.
