Description

Sundance, Wyoming is a vibrant town in northeastern Wyoming where the past still inspires and influences the present today. It's the town that gave the notorious Sundance Kid his name when he was jailed there. Sundance was well known to the early native people because it was here they gathered to perform their Sun Dance ritual, one of the most important for all the Northern Plains tribes. They came to Sundance Mountain to pray for what they needed and to do their penance to the Great Spirit. This coloring and history book seeks to explore that pivotal time in the history of a great land when a new country was being born, even at the expense of its original inhabitants. Many great figures connected to Sundance are remembered for the parts they played in this drama, worked out on the grand stage of the Northern Plains. As one culture faded out, another one took its place. Sundance faces the future, but will always be grounded in its past and the people who passed this way and left their mark upon this land.
