Description

Surrounded by three sides of glistening crystal blue water, Claribel had a small-town charm that attracted thousands of visitors each year. It was always exquisitely landscaped with colorful blue and yellow perennials and historic homes that snuggled against each other. With pocket gardens and picket fences, many of the homes were landscaped with bright colors of fuchsia pink azalea and rose bushes accented in red, yellow, and peach, it was one of the most popular places to live and to visit. Claribel was the most beautiful town, and where Chief Justice Jack Whitlock was a government lawyer turned judge. In his 15 years in law, Jack didn't believe that politicians cared enough about the people. He loved his job, but not the long and tiresome commute into the City. What encouraged him to go in every day was his clients. Jack had a drive and passion for people and that's what stood out most about him. After ten years as an attorney, Jack found himself being nominated by then-President Barden Egbert. Barden had heard from members of Congress how Jack didn't believe that politicians kept their promises. It struck Barden to hear that kind of thinking, but he did agree. He just didn't believe that politicians cared enough about the people and it would soon be his drive to look for something greater in life, a life in public office. Even with the best of intentions, Jack would soon learn that governing wouldn't be easy. He would soon learn that behind the stark walls of the governor's mansion held the secrets of jealousy and the ghosts that would haunt him in the Succession Room.
