Description

Everyone has a dark side. The Strange Case of Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde follows the story of respectable Dr Jekyll's strange association with the 'damnable young man' Edward Hyde. Dr Jekyll has discovered the ultimate drug: a chemical that can turn him into something else – his monstrous alter-ego. Suddenly, he can unleash his deepest cruelties in the guise of the sinister Hyde. But the hunt is on, through fog-bound London for a killer. The final revelation of Hyde's true identity is a chilling exploration of humanity's basest capacity for evil. With an introduction by Denise Mina.

Author Biography:

Robert Louis Stevenson was born in Edinburgh. The success of Treasure Island (1883) and Kidnapped (1886) established his reputation as a writer of tales of action and adventure. Stevenson's Calvinist upbringing lent him a preoccupation with predestination and a fascination with the presence of evil, themes he explored in The Strange Case of Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde (1886) Denise Mina has won the CWA Dagger for Best First Crime Novel, the Theakstons Old Peculier Crime Novel of the Year twice, and the MacIlvanney Prize twice. She is the author of the first Darkland Tale, Rizzio (Polygon).
