Description

Yeats wrote four distinct versions of his unfinished novel, "The Speckled Bird". This edition draws together all four books and includes transcripts of recently identified manuscript pages of the second version. Texts are supplemented by detailed explanatory, authorial and textual notes by the editor, William H. O'Donnell. An introduction and chronology provide an overview of the publishing history of the work.

Author Biography:

WILLIAM H. O'DONNELL is Professor of English at the University of Memphis. He has edited and annotated Yeats's Autobiographies and two other prose volumes in the Collected Edition of W.B. Yeats, as well as the earlier edition of The Speckled Bird. He is the author of two books on Yeats.
