Debra L. Merskin is professor of media studies in the School of Journalism and Communication at the University of Oregon. She is the author of Media, Minorities, and Meaning: A Critical Introduction; Sexing the Media: How and Why We Do It; and Seeing Species: Re-presentations of Animals in Media & Popular Culture.
