He is also the author of studies of music legends, such as Roy Orbison and Jimi Hendrix, and has written for journals as diverse as The Guardian, Record Collector, Ink, Mojo, Mediaeval World, Folk Roots, Guitar, Hello!, Drummer, The Times and The Independent.
