Description

In 1886 a young boy at the age of 10 has his sisters kidnapped and a handful of uncut diamonds stolen from him. Unable to recover the diamonds or save his sisters he resorts to African folklore and seeks the services of an Inyanga. The Inyanga places a curse on the diamonds which last for over 200 years and affect the lives of many unsuspecting owners of the uncut diamonds. Some 200 years later a priceless ring fashioned from the uncut stones is made part of an ensemble for a birthday gift. Everyone who sees the ring, holds the ring and desires to possess the ring encounter and untimely death; the person who is ultimately affected the most by the curse, is a child born out of wedlock to a 16-year-old girl.

Author Biography:

Roland Vincent Boike was born October 28, 1930 at his family home in Madeira, Ohio. He is the son of Dr. Stephen Boike and Ludovica Rensi Boike and is one of seven children. During the Korean War, Roland served in 134th and the 147th Field Artillery as Chief of Section of a 105 Howitzers Battalion. Roland attended Western Kentucky State University, Ohio State Department of Agriculture and the University of Cincinnati Department of Applied Arts. He attended Lincoln College of Chiropractic and graduated in 1962 with a Degree in Chiropractic. Roland was a Staff Physician at Jewish Hospital in Kenwood, Ohio. He served as Team Physician for Loveland High School, Western Brown High School and Wilmington College Girls Soccer Team. Roland served as Mayor and Vice Mayor of Loveland, Ohio.
