Description

This work deals with "petticoat discipline" - imposed by women who tight-laced recalcitrant boys into corsets and making them wear high-heeled boots or tight kid gloves. The theory was that the shame of being so dressed would make them behave without having to resort to corporal punishment. Colour fashion plates, contemporary photographs and fashion drawings illustrate the styles of the clothing that would have been used.
