Description

Two very different creatures-a puppy dog and a jumping cricket-meet each other by chance one day. After their chance meeting, the puppy and the cricket learn about each other's unique qualities and become unlikely friends. A curious puppy bounds into the world one day in search of adventure and happens upon a small green cricket-an insect he's never encountered before. In the following pages, the puppy experiences a new adventure in friendship, learns what makes a cricket special, and gains a new friend he can cherish. The Puppy and The Cricket teaches children tolerance, explains diversity, and provides a playful tone for the early learning of values and manners. With an easy-to-listen-to rhyme scheme and adorable animals, children will relate to and understand the deeper values presented. This is a great beginner book; both for toddlers learning to read and for adults to buy for babies to build their reading library. Parents, grandparents, and guardians will enjoy the overall message of the story while The Puppy and The Cricket's vibrant illustrations and rhythmic narrative will enthrall the children who read it. The Puppy and The Cricket is also a great gift for preschool, kindergarten, and early elementary school teachers to add to their classroom libraries.
