Description

Filled with passion, danger, and intrigue, The Prisoner is Karyn Monk's breathtaking and sensual new romance of a proud Scottish nobleman, an unconventional beauty, and a love that defies all odds... Once a powerful laird, now a common prisoner, Haydon Kent, Lord of Redmond, was scheduled to hang the following morning when she appeared before him like an angel of mercy. One look at the beautiful woman with the red-gold hair gave him a renewed will to live-if only to prove his innocence to this exquisite creature who showed him kindness when all the world had turned against him. Escaping a step ahead of the noose, he found himself a virtual prisoner in her house where she nursed his bruised and fevered body back to health...and stirred in him a passion unlike any he'd ever known. Genevieve MacPhail took in wayward young children to save them from the brutalities of a corrupt prison system. She knew that harboring a condemned fugitive would help her detractors destroy her life's work. But Genevieve didn't believe the strikingly handsome nobleman with the sculpted body of a warrior was a cold-blooded murderer--even if he did carry a painful secret. To help him uncover the plot to frame him, Genevieve would pretend Haydon was her new husband, only to find herself succumbing to the irresistible temptation of the role and a dangerous, real-life desire that could expose them both to their powerful and ruthless enemies.
