Description

Author Biography

T V Rao is Chairman, T.V. Rao Learning Systems Pvt. Ltd, Ahmedabad, a company devoted to ehaviour systems and HR research and consultancy. He had worked as a Professor at the Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad between 1973 and 1994 and subsequently as a Visiting Professor until 2004. He started the Centre for HRD at XLRI, Jamshedpur in 1983 and founded the National HRD Network in 1985. He also served as Larsen & Toubro Professor of HRD at XLRI, Jamshedpur, and a Visiting Research Associate at Harvard University in the early part of his career, where he worked with the late David C. McClelland. A pioneer in the field of HRD in India, Dr Rao was associated with setting up of the first HRD department in the Indian corporate sector in Larsen & Toubro and also worked as General Manager, HRD at Bharat Earth Movers Ltd. He has been a consultant to many organisations in India and abroad. He has authored, co-authored and co-edited over 50 books in the areas of HRD, organisational behaviour and performance management. Among them are Human Resources Development: Experiences, Interventions, Strategies (SAGE, 1996); Organisation Development: Interventions and Strategies (coeditor, SAGE Response, 1998), HRD Score Card 2500 (SAGE Response, 2008); The Power of 360 Degree Feedback (SAGE, 2005); and Performance Appraisal and Management for Global competitiveness (SAGE Response, 2005). Dr Rao has personally supervised and conducted HRD audit for several organisations in India and abroad and trained Auditors in India and Malaysia through his company TVRLS in recent years.
