Description

In a future where hospitals seem to be able to fix anything, Jake's accident should have been easy to sort out. Yes, Jake should have been more careful with the chainsaw, but with regeneration even severed arms could be regrown. So why aren't Jake's friends allowed to see him? Is there something extremely sinister at work? Part of the new Fresh Shades series, this book is exciting and fast-paced, keeping within the style of the Shades 2.0 series. It is perfect for reluctant teens who still want an exciting, unpatronising read that is relevant to their interests and concerns, but who don't want to read a longer novel. With a length of only 6,000 words, and filled with drama, this story will appeal to all reluctant teen readers.

Author Biography:

Mary Chapman is a regular Shades 2.0 author who has also written picture books. After attending University College London and Leeds University she taught English in secondary schools. After some years in teaching Mary decided to train as a social worker, and later as a family therapist. In recent years she has achieved her ambition to become a writer. When she is not writing she enjoys discussing books with friends in a book group, art exhibitions, aerobics, walking, and gardening, although she would rather look at other people's gardens than work in her own.
