First Published 1916, Second Edition, revised and enlarged 1922. Steiner (1861-1925) was an Austrian philosopher, social reformer, architect and esotericist who initially gained recognition at the end of the 19th century as a literary critic and for publishing philosophical works including "The Philosophy of Freedom".
