Description

The Mission brings new meaning to what it looks like to live out community in the context of the Church. For all who have ever felt that something must be missing in their faith, or their Church experience has been confusing, disappointing, or maybe even painful; there are answers in this book that will renew your hope, joy, and purpose. The Mission exposes our weak understanding of the pre-eminent call on the Christian life - to love God and others like Jesus does. Heavily relying on the Bible and the guidance of the Holy Spirit, The Mission reveals the negative outcomes resulting from our confusion and sets out to discover what it really means to agape love others. The working out of agape love in the life of the Apostle Peter and his resultant teachings are a core focus of the book. You will discover that learning to love others is God's plan to teach us how to love him. As it turns out, the path of agape love is the only way to personal wholeness and the complete fulfillment of God's calling on each of our lives. Craig Hanney is a retired business professional from a global distribution company. During his 32 year business career he also faithfully served in local churches and held various positions of leadership. His combined secular and church experience coupled with his spiritual gifting of wisdom, discernment, and exhortation give him a heart from which to speak to the challenges of living out the Christian faith. He is married to Darlene, his high school sweetheart and wife of 35 years. Together they have two married daughters. Craig thinks of himself as an ordinary "fisherman" who is trying to learn to love God. His hope and conviction is that God can still use fishermen to accomplish some of his Kingdom building work. Craig can be contacted at TheMission.Love@gmail.com.
