Steve Ellis, the author, is a British English teacher! You will have gathered that if you've read his author profile or if you hear his accent (as you might do if you watch one of his videos). From his general writing, you will realise (realize) anyway, as he uses British English rather than American. Having worked internationally and having North American friends, he is comfortable with both but in his own writing favours (favors) what he was taught and brought up with. Actually, the text in The Man in the Moon does not have any of these differences. However, It does have very slight differences in punctuation style which you may not even notice The variances between British/American punctuation style are really minor and vary depending on the publication. Steve just thought it was worth a mention! He's always happy to discuss on his website - details in the book. Hope you enjoy the book and stay safe and well. Thank you! The Man in the Moon (extract) The Man in the Moon woke up early one night For, of course, he'd slept in the day. And he said, "It's so dark, better turn on my light, And then I'll go outside to play." So he switched on his moon lamp, which lit up the sky, And with a stretch and a sigh and a yawn, He got out of bed, quickly washed and got dressed, Then went out to play until dawn. Every night, without change, it was always the same, And he'd talk to the stars far away. And invite them to visit, perhaps play a game, But he found they had nothing to say. etc.
