Young Danny is bored on his family's vacation and slips away to explore a mysterious forest where he encounters a secret world of fairies -- as imagined by an eleven-year-old author -- and joins them in an epic battle with evil. At first Danny only babysits Dolly -- a snippy fairy youngster -- but with mutual trust building, the fairies shrink him to size and introduce him to their tiny village.
