"Fascinating: the best game I've"
5 stars"
Purchased on Mighty Ape

This is pure adventure, and is the best game I've ever played. It has an intricate and fascinating story, and you can't help feeling deeply involved with the main character, April Ryan.

There is no fighting, or violence (well nothing of consequence), and you can't die.

It does involve a lot of conversations with other characters, and in some places a lot of reading. There is also a suitable amount of humour.

There are two characters who do use the F… word a lot, and the game would NOT be suitable for children for the above two reasons (reading and swearing).

It has been put out as a 4CD set, a 2CD set and a DVD. I strongly recommend the latter.

If you do get into this, don't bother about the sequel, Dreamfall-the longest journey: this is technically superior, but does have fighting and dying, and is very difficult to play.

The Longest Journey is also the longest game! For pure adventurers, a must!

One of the best adventure games ever made is now Windows XP compatible!

The Longest Journey takes place 200 years into the future in a world based on science and technology. You play the 18 year-old art student April Ryan. She's an ordinary girl who all of a sudden gets her life turned upside down as she discovers the existence of a parallel world full of magic and strange creatures. April Ryan has the power to shift between these two worlds, and she soon discovers that she has a very important mission in life. The game is packed with amazing graphics, motion captured characters appearing in full 3D, challenging puzzles, and features 50 speaking characters, 160 detailed locations and about 30 minutes of movie sequences.
