Description

The amazing elder tree produces wonderful, fragrant, cream flowers followed by rich, burgundy-coloured berries. Used as culinary ingredients, both can be turned into so many exciting recipes. The contrasting flavours are quite different, and this is reflected in how they are used. Elderflowers are fragrant and light, giving inspiration for cool sorbets, foamy desserts, cheesecakes and creamy panna cottas. Elderberries are rich and dark with an intense flavour. These can be used to make wonderful drinks as well as cakes, pastries, bread and savoury dishes. All recipes are illustrated with full colour photographs.

Author Biography:

Janice has always had a passion for cooking. She trained as a home economist and became a highly successful food stylist and creative recipe writer. She has contributed many features to top magazines and created new recipe ideas for worldwide food companies. Her achievements have been recognised by the commissioning of over thirty cookery books. Janice can create original recipes from a few ingredients not only for taste but also visually, as reflected in this 'Little Book' series. The first of these, 'Wild Garlic', was published by Austin Macauley in summer 2022 and the second, 'Sloes & Crab Apples', in winter 2022.
