In 1904, the British government promised to leave the Maasai alone on their traditional lands as long as they shall exist as a people. Seven years later, that promise is shattered, and the Maasai must choose between war with a powerful enemy and a long perilous trek to land allocated to them by the British.

Author Biography:

Frank Coates was born in Melbourne and for many years worked as a telecommunications engineer in Australia and overseas. In 1989 he was appointed as UN technical specialist in Nairobi, Kenya, and spent nearly four years working, travelling and researching in Africa. Frank now lives in Sydney. This is his fifth novel.
