This musical has the most beautiful music and couple that with the acting talents of Yul Brynner and Deborah Kerr it becomes a winner. Set in Siam a wonderful meeting of two opposite cultures, the English and the Siamese (I think it is called Burma now). The scenery and costuming is superb!

This movie is a classic. I remember listening to my Dad's soundtrack on LP when I was a kid and when I finally saw the movie on TV for the first time it put life into all the tunes I had swimming around in my head. The bright colours and glamorous costumes are a feast for the eyes, my favourite song “Shall we dance” always makes me imagine dancers spinning around the room in a huge puffy hoop skirts.
