The Innocents
Based on Henry James’ immortal novella, The Turn of the Screw, this classic horror film is a dark, terrifying, gothic tale of a repressed spinster-governess (Deborah Kerr) caring for two strange children in a lonely mansion. Miss Giddens begins to suspect that the perfectly mannered children harbour a dark secret and have become pawns in a horrifying plot from beyond the grave!
The principal inspiration for the blockbusters, The Sixth Sense and The Others, The Innocents remains the quintessential ghost story and boasts a provocative script co-written by Truman Capote and brilliant direction by Jack Clayton (The Great Gatsby).
