Description

'I can't remember the last time I discovered a novel as smart and delightful as this one. Treat yourself to this book, please - I can't recommend it highly enough.' Elizabeth Gilbert, author of the international bestseller Eat, Pray, Love Welcome to this special enhanced edition of a much-loved, bestselling novel. First published in 2008 around the world, The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society has given enormous pleasure to many readers and has provoked an equal amount of curiosity about the island of Guernsey and its German Occupation during World War Two. Within this beautiful edition, some of this curiosity will be satisfied by: a Foreword by co-author Annie Barrows: a short history of the island of Guernsey during this period; historical photographs; a selection of original documents including journal entries from the time; a list of the books the Society members read; and reading group discussion questions. Gloriously honest, enchanting and funny, The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society is sure to win your heart. 'Readers beware-don't even try to hold onto your heart, because it will be swept away by this glorious book.' Good Reading 'An intelligent and delightful meditation on the joy of books and reading.' Sydney Morning Herald
