-Initial print run of 10,000 copies. -This is the third book in a four book series that specializes and focuses on endangered animals. The fourth book will likely be on the gorilla. -The second book in the series was named a New York Times Best Illustrated book of 2016. -Jenni Desmond was named a Maurice Sendak Fellow in 2016. -Jenni Desmond's books have been translated into over twenty languages. -We have been through several reprints for the first two books in this series, The Blue Whale and The Polar Bear. All books in this series have been fact checked and vetted by scientists and animal experts. The Elephant was fact checked by one African Elephant expert and two Asian Elephant specialists. -Enchanted Lion will be publishing a thematic grouping of books for this season, the theme being Elephants. The Elephant by Jenni Desmond will be published in conjunction with The Smallest Elephant in the World by Milton Glaser, and Noodlephant by Jacob Kramer. Books will be marketed as a thematic group. -Jenni is committed to animals that are in danger of extinction and has worked with the WWF on other projects.

Author Biography

A graduate of the renowned MA program in Children's Book Illustration at the Cambridge School of Art (ARU), Jenni works from her studio in London, UK. She uses collage, paint, and colored pencils to create her artwork, which she then scans and edits by computer. Jenni strives to make her illustrations entertaining, beautiful, and funny in equal measure. Her first picture book, Red Cat, Blue Cat, won the Cambridgeshire "Read it Again" Picture Book Award in 2013.
