Author Biography:

Professor Alison Woollard is a biochemistry lecturer at the University of Oxford, UK. Her scientific research focuses on the genetics of the worm Caenorhabditis elegans. In 2013, she presented the prestigious Royal Institution Christmas Lectures. Dr Sophie Gilbert is a geneticist who has also studied the worm Caenorhabditis elegans. She trained with Alison Woollard at the University of Oxford, finishing her Phd in 2016.
