"The Divine Service - What Does This Mean?" is a fully illustrated book made up of paragraphs explaining the Historic Liturgy of the Church. There are two main sections in this work - paragraphs relating to the Divine Service of the Word (from the Invocation to the prayers) and paragraphs addressing the Divine Service of the Sacrament (from the Preface through the Benediction. "The Divine Service" provides what a pastor would want to teach in confirmation classes, in preparation for attendance at the Lord's Supper. There are ample opportunities for incorporating Pastor Martin Luther's "The Small Catechism." This book is also suitable as a gift for visitors as well as a refresher course for communicant members of the congregation and for personal devotions.
