Description

This book celebrates the diverse range of innovative craft work being produced by makers across Scotland. Scotland's traditional crafts are well-known world-wide, and this book aims to broaden awareness and appreciation of how much wider the overall contemporary craft picture in Scotland is. Jewellery, glass, silver, textiles, ceramics and furniture are all represented in the work, showing a very high level of skill, along with innovations in the use of technologies such as electroforming and laser-welding within craft practice. The makers represented have all contributed illuminating details about their practice, and the work is captured in stunning photographs by Shannon Tofts. The book also contains essays by leading international craft writers who provide fascinating insights into Scotland's contemporary crafts and the place they hold in the international craft scene.
