Author Biography:

Arthur Edward Waite (1857 - 1942) was a mystic whose writings focused on the occult. He designed and co-creator of the world's most popular tarot deck - the Rider Waite Smith. His accompanying book to Pamela Colman Smith's famous paintings gave spiritual guidance and insight into esoteric ideas as well as outlining how to use tarot cards. Pamela Colman Smith (1878-1951) was a British artist, illustrator, writer and occultist. She is best-known for illustrating the Rider-Waite-Smith tarot deck in collaboration with Arthur Waite. She received little recognition for her contributions to the deck and her name was left off most editions. Today, the modern Tarot community includes her name in the title to acknowledge the significant contribution of her artwork to the deck's popularity and longevity.Today, the modern Tarot community includes her name in the title to acknowledge the significant contribution of her artwork to the deck's popularity and longevity
