But it is not enough just to know the names of these animals and plants; and in this book much is told of their habits, how they grow and feed, and affect each other 's lives, and of how shellfish, seaweeds and seaside plants are used by man, either for food or for manufacturing purposes. This is a book for general readers interested in seashores.
