A film by Maryam Touzani
Halim and Mina run a traditional caftan store in one of Morocco’s oldest medinas. In order to keep up with the commands of the demanding customers, they hire Youssef. The talented apprentice shows an utmost dedication in learning the art of embroidery and tailoring from Halim. Slowly Mina realizes how much her husband is moved by the presence of the young man.

- “This is a tender, beautiful film. Not only is it visually rich but there’s an above-average soundtrack…” – David Stratton (The Australian)
- ""“The Blue Caftan,” like its title garment, has a handmade, lived-in quality, an authenticity that marks Touzani — a former journalist making her second feature — a director to watch." – G. Allen Johnson (San Francisco Chronicle)
