"Another movie with a story line, not reliant totally on shock"
5 stars"
Purchased on Mighty Ape

This movie has a story line, which seems to be a rare event in this day and age. Yes, there are a lot of computer generated special effects but the movie doesn't rely on these, instead it relies on a very strong story line, which is excellent. This movie is suitable for children aged above 5 (in most cases), and whilst it can be ‘scary’ in some places, it's not terrifying, so most children viewing this with adults should be able to view it without having nightmares.

Stunning visuals, great story

"It's okay"
3 stars"

Pros: stunning animation and cinematography, a very well trained delightful cat. Cons: mostly awful wooden acting by lead child, far too long, not enough of Roald Dahl's storytelling wickeness kept in movie.

Description

The BFG

The talents of three of the world’s greatest storytellers – Roald Dahl, Walt Disney and Steven Spielberg – finally unite to bring Dahl’s beloved classic “The BFG” to life. Disney’s “The BFG” tells the imaginative story of a young girl and the Giant who introduces her to the wonders and perils of Giant Country. The BFG, while a giant himself, is a Big Friendly Giant and nothing like the other inhabitants of Giant Country.

""The BFG" remembers what it's like to see with the eyes of a child." – RogerEbert.com

“Like so many good dreams, it leaves us groping for a past that can never be recovered, but also looking ahead to a future that suddenly seems brighter, and friendlier, than we had dared to believe.” – L.A Times
