Teddy Pendergrass joined the Gospel Choir at a church in Philadelphia from an early age and played drums at the local pop group Cadillacs as a teenager. In 1970, Cadillacs was absorbed by Harold Melvin & The Blue Notes, and soon Teddy was in charge of lead vocals. It will be a group that represents PIR by firing hit songs such as “If You Don't Know Me by Now”.
After that, Teddy made a number of hits as a solo artist and played an active part as a male solo singer representing soul / R & B. This best of compilation album contains representative songs from the era of Harold Melvin & The Blue Notes to solo work.
