Author Biography

Dale Harbison Carnegie (1888-1955) was an American writer and lecturer, as well as the creator of the Dale Carnegie Courses in self-improvement, salesmanship, corporate training, public speaking, and interpersonal skills. Following a failed acting career, the native Missourian headed to New York and launched a public speaking class at the 125th Street YMCA, where he was staying. By 1915, he was a successful lecturer and had written his first book, The Art of Public Speaking. He would go on to publish several successful titles throughout his career, including How to Stop Worrying and Start Living and How to Win Friends and Influence People, which remains a bestseller to this day.
