Description

This book is a compilation of guided exercises using art to help one more easily move from the onslaught of negativity to a more positive outlook. This book is designed to be employed by adults who are hoping to help a child through the process, or by teens or adults who would like to help themselves. By going through the exercises in the book, one can begin to train oneself, or one's children, to develop a proactive stance where it comes to emotions. The view of the author is not that emotions are bad and should never be expressed, but rather that the emotions are to be noticed, and expressed in a way that is not hurtful to oneself or others. Don't allow the emotion to rule - but rather learn to rule over it. Not by stuffing it down and pretending it doesn't exist, but by experiencing it fully, noting the experience and moving on. The activities within this book are designed to help one specifically accomplish this sometimes daughting task. When the negatives seem overwhelming, sometimes a little help can go a long way to turning that negativity around into a more positive flow of emotions.
