Description

With this 1941 monograph, the author joined Poincare, Birkhoff, and others in placing celestial mechanics on a sound mathematical basis. The product of many years' work, this volume remains a valuable contribution to the literature, amply supplemented by a section of notes and references that covers much of the subject's historical background. 1947 edition.
