Description

From growing up in the Great Depression to riding elephants in the jungles of Thailand, from hand-picking corn in Minnesota to selling ice in San Antonio, Ed's tales give us glimpses of other eras and cultures. His stories, culled from 95 years of living, remind us that a rich life is woven from millions of small things done well.

Author Biography:

Edward Winters has lived a full life. The youngest son in a family of six children, he and his beloved Sophie raised six children of their own on the very farm where he grew up. Though he had opportunity to attend school only through eighth grade, he has approached life as a learner for 95 years. Not only can he write and speak in Dutch and English, he has picked up a functional amount of Spanish. Though raised in a small farming community comprised mainly of Dutch immigrant families like his own, he welcomed every chance to travel the world and experience other cultures. Ed loves to talk with everyone he meets, tell good jokes, and study World War II. He gives thanks to God for His many graces, the best of which was Jesus' death and resurrection to pay for all our sins, that we might live together with Him in heaven forever. Ed hopes to meet you there someday-you can be sure he'll have a great joke and a bit of candy to share.
