Author Biography

David Meiselman was born in Brooklyn, New York. After serving in Vietnam (1968-1969) as a decorated United States Marine, David attended college and law school in New York City. Gaining valuable experience working briefly for F. Lee Bailey, Esq. and Manhattan District Attorney Frank Hogan, Esq., David then began representing doctors and hospitals in New York City. Shortly thereafter, acting upon his vision, David began what became a nationally recognized litigation firm practicing law for forty years with his wife, Myra Packman, the founding Editor-in-Chief of Law Review at Pace Law School. At its peak, their firm grew to 45 attorneys and 85 employees with cases and clients throughout the country.During his career, David was continuously recognized by his peers, including Best Lawyers in America, Top Trial Lawyers in America, Best Lawyers in the Tri-State Area, as one of New York's Super Lawyers and as a Fellow of the American Bar Foundation, an honor reserved for 1/3 of 1% of lawyers in the country. In addition, David held numerous leadership positions in professional societies as well as with not-for-profit organizations. More recently, David served for eight years as a proud member of the Board of Trustees at Southwestern Vermont Medical Center, which he chaired for three of those years. In continuing support of the hospital, proceeds from this book will go to the hospital in appreciation of the dedication and devotion provided to our community by our compassionate and skilled physicians, nurses and executive management led by CEO Tom Dee. David and Myra, now happily retired, live in beautiful Vermont. Their wonderful daughter Becky lives in Chicago with her husband Doug.
