Jimmy Fallon plays officer Washburn, a cop who is having a very bad day that he thinks couldn’t possibly get any worse. How wrong can you be? When his efforts to hitch a ride in a car to chase a gang of female bank robbers go spectacularly wrong, Washburn decides to hail down a cab instead. The problem is that behind the wheel of this particular taxi is New York’s fastest cabbie, Belle (Queen Latifah) and her souped-up yellow auto with all its special “extras” looks like something 007 would have been comfortable driving. In the laugh-a-minute chase that ensues, officer Washburn takes his life in his hands.
Directed by Tim Story (Barbershop and the upcoming The Fantastic Four), Taxi is based on the 1998 French film, written by director, Luc Besson.
