Axel Scheffler has had books published in over a dozen countries and is famous for his depiction of animals. His books for Macmillan have included the Smarties gold award-winning THE GRUFFALO (0 333 71093 2) and ROOM ON THE BROOM (0 333 90337 4). Born in Hamburg, he now lives in London.
