Takom 1/35 M3 Grant CDL – Model Kit
The Takom 1/35 M3 Grant CDL from the plastic tank model kits range accurately recreates the real-life British Medium Tank.
- M3 Grant CDL is a secret weapon developed for night battle by the British forces during the World War 2.
- CDL is an acronym for canal defense light, but this is a name for deception and indeed it was a vehicle with a powerful searchlight for support of night battle.
- The biggest feature is that it carries a carbon arc lamp emitting 12.8 million candelas, reflects light with an internal mirror, it can steal the enemy's sight by irradiating enemy troops with a slit with an armored shutter in the center of the turret. It was possible.
- Also it can send Morse code by opening and closing armored shutters.
- Initially, Matilda CDL with CDL mounted on Matilda Infantry Tank was produced and equipped by many units in the British.
