Author Biography:

Gary R Kirby, grew up in Cincinnati near the Ohio River, and was lucky to always have a woods in his backyard to wander and dream of shape changing animals and clouds, while marveling at the magical worlds of nature, science, and people. He fell in love with words on his grandmother's lap which led to a doctorate in Renaissance Literature from Northwestern University, where he quit reading The Faerie Queene when he found out that the "Knight pricking across the plain," was really just riding a horse. He taught widely across the country, ran Portland Student Services in 1975, and was finally able to settle in the Pacific Northwest, land of beauty! He has published a college text, Thinking, and has published on-demand ten fiction and non-fiction, and nineteen books of poetry. This one, Sunbursting, contains some of his best.
