Legenia Spiller Bearden is a woman of many hats. She is a playwright, producer, director, business woman, photographer, Sunday school teacher, Zumba instructor and most importantly a wife and mother. She is the founder and Executive Director of Bearden Productions Performing Arts Studio (BPPAS), a 501c3 performing arts organization in North Little Rock. Her passion to work within her community combined with her love for theatre inspired her to start the company in 2006. BPPAS offers theater, dance, and cooking classes for little or no money to school age children and adults desiring to learn more about and/ or perform in the arts. In 2014 Legenia began Arkansas Naturals, an organization whose mission is dedicated to educating African American women to love and embrace their natural beauty. The goal is to Educate, Encourage and Empower, by providing resources and services that promote unity and quality of life. In her spare time Legenia loves writing, reading, photography, teaching Zumba and exercising. She is also the assistant bible study teacher for Discipleship 101 on Wednesday nights at the church she and her family have been members of for more than 10 years. When she is not traveling with her husband on his speaking engagements, Legenia is out ministering the Gospel of Jesus Christ through the spoken word or through song. Legenia has an AA in Business, BA in Business Administration and a Master of Public Administration from Webster University. She and her husband Rev. Daniel Bearden have been married for 12 years and have 4 children, Theresa, Daniel, Autume, and Angelina.
