Description

A traditional folktale retold for beginner readers ready to tackle slightly more complicated storylines and sentence structures. When a traveller comes to town he claims to be able to make a wonderful soup from only water and a stone. But he still needs a few ingredients... Part of the Usborne Reading Programme developed with reading experts at the University of Roehampton. Includes several pages of reading-related puzzles. Also available as ebook with narration in British English (only on tablets that support audio).

Author Biography

Lesley dreamed of being a writer, but studied law as her mother insisted she had "something to fall back on". Since joining Usborne Publishing, she has written and edited hundreds of books, from funny rhyming stories to an award-winning history book. Nowadays, she is often found recording books, too, in Usborne's very own recording studio.
