"Blow the living daylights out of anything!!!!"
5 stars"

I mean come on who doesnt enjoy throwing a stormtrooper into each other!! This game is so fun!!! I love the fact that you can upgrade your character into a weapon of mass detruction and fully blow the living daylights out of every living (and not living) thing!!!! Great story line and after you finish the game and start again you keep the same powerups!! I have played It for hours and hours!!!! A must Buy!!!! 5/5 EXCELLENT

"The Force (not quite) unleashed"
3 stars"

A long time ago, in a gaming studio far far away… LucasArts

I should have known better, an opening line that never bodes well, but I fear it is all I can think to say… Lucas Arts are a good game studio when it comes to some of their puzzle games, BUT their Star Wars games; oh my god can they be annoying sometimes… it's just to much formula (wash/rinse/repeat until everything is dead), and beating the end of level baddies is just a matter of figuring out what attacks work on them, and hoping you can stay alive long enough to do so, and if the AI thinks you're doing to well, it WILL see to it that you crumble under a barrage of attacks!!

The Vader battle at the end (I've done both endings) just put the final nail in the coffin for me, and ended in the destruction of one of my joypads by launching it accross the room… a lot of the time, the camera angles work well, but at others, like the infamous Vader battle, all they do is hinder you, as it locks the camera down!!

In the most part, this game isn't bad, but I can't help but think if it was anything other than Star Wars, it would be a decidedly average platformer that I wouldn't have completed, I played it purely because I wanted to see everything I could in this game, and because like any true Star Wars fan, cannot resist the lure of anything where I get to use a lightsaber!!

The gameplay does get better as you start learning the force powers, but to begin with, it's very slow going and just a “hack/slash” your way forward, the graphics are of course second to none, and the score is so iconic that I doubt there would be anyone who doesn't recognise it, and the cut scenes are impecable, as we would expect from Lucas Arts!!

Overall though, if we discount the Star Wars franchise, underneath the shell is a decidedly average venture into next gen gaming, that is VERY annoying in places, and I feel we were promised so much more… I know an awful lot of work went into this, but I can't help wondering if the budget wasn't all blown on the new story, because there are so many games that play so much better… if you're looking for the next Halo 3, or Bioshock, then this isn't going to be it… it lasted me 10 hours of gaming (if that) and I was glad to have finished it by the end, rather than wanting a sequel as I was with both of the aforementioned games… I know both of those other games I mention are first person, and this isn't, so maybe it's not a fair comparison, but all I want to say is: SW: FU could have been so much more than it is, it had so much potential… if you haven't already bought it, rent it for a week, because once you complete it, you won't be revisiting it.

"A BIG let down (sigh)"
2 stars"

If your a fan of the Starwars games like KOTOR (1 & 2) and think this is the next fun filled game in the line – ITS NOT!

This game is a BIG let down from those fun and entertaining games. Force unleashed is a go from point A to point B – kill everything fighting game. You will quickly become bored with the limited game play. Have a go with the demo – it will give you a feel for the game, just dont expect anything more.

On the up side – exelent grapics, movie cut sceens can be a little funny, as they try to carry a story to keep you interested. a real shame they didnt spend time making these sceens more interactive.

"Could of been better!!!"
5 stars"
Purchased on Mighty Ape

As for graphics they are awesome, however, easily gets repetitive, and find that enemies use the same maneuvers, also, the game is way to short! i clocked it under 8 hours on Sith, big let down and not worth the hype, although i will give Lucas Arts their props, the graphics are groovy

"Addictive and Fun"

This has been the first ‘Star Wars’ type game I've played and I have got to say I really enjoyed it (especially using the Force and Sith Lightning – wouldn't life be great if we had those useful tools up our sleeve!) I enjoyed the Gameplay with the story revolving around some familiar characters and some new ones. Lots to keep you interested and above all fun while doing it! I've just downloaded the Extra Jedi Level from Xbox Live just to keep me going for another few hours!

"Pretty but no personality."
2 stars"

As with a lot of these big budget, flashy console games it seems to be all about the graphics, and to grip the player with the demo or with the first couple of hours of the game. Once they've got you, or more to the point got your money, whether or not the rest of the game's any good is irrelevant.

It looks so cool at first. Everyone loves the whole jedi (or in this case sith) thing; lightsabers, force powers and whatnot. It's all good. And it looks terrific, not just the graphics but the design. Good characters and voice acting too. It's just that the game is so boring. You just run through a very linear area, slaughter a few dozen of the same two or three enemies until the really tough boss battle with the jedi, and it's mission complete. Then you go to another location and do it all over again. Fun for a bit but not enough to hold my interest. I quit half way through the third or fourth mission. On top of that it's frustrating because the saves are quite far apart. You finally get past some really hard part only to be killed and have to do it all over again.

It's a shame, if it was a proper role playing game I would adore it.

I couldn't help but chuckle at Starkiller's (god what a name) hot blond pilot, in her imperial officer's uniform with the front cut away to show off her cleavage. I like cleavage as much as the next guy, if not more, but puh-lease.

"excellent game!"
5 stars"

this game held its storyline very well, not to mention further on in the game when you upgrade your character you turn so powerful that literally nothing can stop you! this is one of those games when you start playing you dont want to stop, and if you do stop then you have the erge to start playing again! its a great game all around. 5/5 :)

"Incomplete"
3 stars"
Purchased on Mighty Ape

A game that promised so much but didn't deliver. There was much to like about this game – the story seemed well thought out and the idea of running around as a sith's apprentice terrorising the glaxy was appealing. But at the end of the day the repetitive nature and buggy mechanics let the game down. A real shame

"Decent Action Game"

The gameplay and fighting is very fun and has a great story, but starts to grow old towards the end as it is quite repetitive but still one of the best action games on the 360.

"Love the force!!!"

If you like star wars then this game is for you its a nice fill in story and another twist away from the films. All in all 7/10

"I really enjoyed it"
5 stars"

Well after reading most so called “reviews” on this site written by those educated people who clearly can spell, I've decided to take matters into my own hand.

Star Wars: The Force Unleashed is a brilliant little game, its not too long, and its not too short. “The Goldilocks Zone” – SGU.

Since this game was my first Star Wars game, I have to admit once I had finished playing through the campaign I was left wanting more, I love the gameplay, sure it had a few issues but overall it was excellent. The visuals were decent, but really I don't judge a game on visuals unless they are really really bad…

If you are thinking of buying this game I'd recommend just renting it out at your local video store, the price here (not to offend the Ape) isn't worth it. But you know it's a good game, good plot. Bring on the sequel

Cheers

"At least its not as bad as the Prequel movies!"
4 stars"

One of the better Star Wars games out there on the market. Not dying with anticipation for the sequel to be released but this game served its purpose and helped pass the time. Highlight of the game – playing Darth Vader at the very beginning.

"Star Wars: the force leashed! (in some places!)"
3 stars"

This game is quite a good one. The new force system is quite pleasing, and allows many new force powers. However, I was sorely let down when I discovered (after we'd bought it) that it didn't have multiplayer. Not quite worth the price, but I'd definitely recommend this game to Xbox gamers without Xbox Live.
