Author Biography
CHARLES MACLEAN is the author of ten books to date, including the standard work on whisky brands, Scotch Whisky and the leading book on its subject, Malt Whisky, both of which were short-listed for Glenfiddich Awards. Whisky: A Liquid History was named Wine and Spirit Book of the Year (2005) by the James Beard Foundation of New York. In 2008 he was Managing Editor of Dorling Kindersley's Eyewitness Companion to Whisky, and in 2009 their World Whiskies. He lives near Edinburgh with his wife and three sons.

LARA PLATMAN is a photographer and writer, specialising in documenting areas of culture that are often considered to be eccentric or endangered. Her previous books are a collection of portraits of craftsmen in their working environments for the Art Workers Guild (Unicorn Press), and Harris Tweed (Frances Lincoln).
ALLAN MACDONALD is a photographer and folk musician, specializing in landscape and portraits. A son of the Hebrides, he is now based in Edinburgh. His work has been published in TIME, The Huffington Post, The Daily Telegraph, and The Daily Mail among others.
